Samples are synthetic, marine (AKA nodule) and terrestrial (AKA HH)

For samples as received, heated to 500 deg. C +/- 50 deg. C and 950 deg. c +/- 100

X-ray photoelectron spectra were obtained at the National EPSRC XPS Users’ Service (NEXUS) at Newcastle University, an EPSRC Mid-Range Facility NS/A000015/1.
