READ ME This text presents the thermal conductivity dryout curve of the sand used in the experiments at NGIF within the framework of the project PLEXUS (Priming Laboratory EXperiments on infrastructure and Urban Systems) ======================== Introductory information ======================== Files included in the data deposit 1) PLEXUS_Sand_TCDC.csv 2) README_PLEXUS_Sand_TCDC.txt ================================================================== Explain the relationship between multiple data sets, if required: ================================================================== Dataset consists of a single file presenting the volumetric water content and thermal conductivity measurements ===================================== Key words used to describe the data: ===================================== Lysimeter, SuDS, Green Infrastructure, Sand, Thermal conductivity dryout curve, TCDC, Gravimetric water content, Volumetric water content ========================== Methodological information ========================== Data collected includes the following: VWC: Volumetric water content [%] - calculated based on dry density ThermCond: Thermal conductivity [W/mK] ========================================= Instruments, hardware and software used: ========================================= HYPROP - Meter Group KD2 - Decagon Instruments ========================================= Date(s) of data collection: ========================================= 06.08.2019 - 21.08.2019 ========================================= Geographic coverage of data: ========================================= Newcastle upon Tyne, UK ================================================================================== Data validation (how was the data checked, proofed and cleaned): ================================================================================== Mean value of two tensiometer readings were calculated to obtain the matric suction value. Geometric water content was calculated based on the change in mass over time and the dry weight of soil. Volumetric water content was calculated based on the gravimetric water content and dry density. ========================================= Overview of secondary data, if used: ========================================= NA ========================= Data-specific information ========================= PLEXUS_Sand_TCDC.csv: *.csv file of the experiment performed on PLEXUS sand at a dry density of 1.43 Mg/m^3 starting from an initially saturated state VWC: Volumetric water content [%] - calculated based on dry density ThermCond: Thermal conductivity [W/mK] ================================================== Explanation of weighting and grossing variables: ================================================== NA ========================= Outline any missing data: ========================= NA ======= Contact ======= Please contact anil.yildiz@ncl.ac.uk or ross.stirling@ncl.ac.uk for further information
