ACM. ======================== Introductory information ======================== Files included in the data deposit (include a short description of what data are contained): 1)16 near-verbatim transcripts of interviews with 5 diary-keepers and 11 users of smart journal apps. Key words used to describe the data: ========================== Methodological information ========================== A brief method description ñ what the data is, how and why it was collected or created, and how it was processed: Interviews were around an hour long, and asked people about the practices and motivations for recording their lives using a variety of tools. They were also asked to share extracts from their diaries or journals. This data was later analysed using an ‘Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis’ (IPA) which emphasises the idiographic nature of personal experience. Most interviews took place and were recorded over Skype. Most of the interviews were transcribed by the lead author, however 6 were transcribed externally. Date(s) of data collection: The interviews took place from January-July 2015. Participants reside primarily in the UK, but include numerous other nationalities. ========================= Data-specific information ========================= N/A ======= Contact ======= Please contact rdm@ncl.ac.uk for further information.
