READ ME This text describes the data presented in the paper: Climate Change Impacts on Yangtze River Discharge at the Three Gorges Dam ======================== Introductory information ======================== Files included in the data deposit: 1) original CMIP5 data. This contains the original pr (precipitation) and tas (surface air temperature) from 78 climate model projections for each 2.5 degree grid squares within the Yangtze basin 2) Shetran-simulations-current-climate. This contains three folders with the input data and results using a 10,000m grid, a 20,000m grid and a 40,000m grid. 3) Shetran-simulations-future-climate. This contains the Shetran input files and also the results for each of the 78 climate model projections. 4) Shetran-simulations-future-climate - notchangePE. This contains the Shetran input files and also the results for each of the 78 climate model projections but without a changed potential evaporation (although with a changed precipitation). Key words used to describe the data: Shetran, CMIP5, Yangtze ========================== Methodological information ========================== A brief method description – what the data is, how and why it was collected or created, and how it was processed: The original CMIP5 data was downloaded from the KNMI Climate Explorer website Instruments, hardware and software used: The simulations were carried out using Shetran (http://research.ncl.ac.uk/shetran/). The executable and dlls are included in this depository and it runs on a standard PC. Date(s) of data collection: The original CMIP5 data was downloaded in April 2003 Geographic coverage of data: The data and simulation cover the upper Yangtze basin down to Yichang. ========================= Data-specific information ========================= Outline any missing data: The original CMIP5 data has some missing records. These are highlighted in the corresponding folder. ======= Contact ======= Please contact rdm@ncl.ac.uk for further information
