READ ME This text describes the data presented in the paper: Structural Heterogeneity in Polynucleotide-Facilitated Assembly of Phenothiazine Dyes [DOI:10.1021/acs.jpcb.7b12835] ======================== Introductory information ======================== Files included in the data deposit (include a short description of what data are contained): 1) MB_GC_all.xlsx 2) MB_AT_all.xlsx 3) MB_DNA_all.xlsx 4) Th_GC_all.xlsx 5) Th_AT_all.xlsx 6) Th_DNA_all.xlsx 7) AB_all_highIS.xlsx Explain the relationship between multiple data sets, if required: Each dataset represents data at two ionic strengths for a different dye and polynucleotide combination at a binding ration of DNA base/dye of 3. Key words used to describe the data: Absorption Spectra, circular dichroism spectra, linear dichroism spectra, linear dichroism spectra, thionine, methylene blue, azure B, DNA, alternating polynucleotides ========================== Methodological information ========================== A brief method description – what the data is, how and why it was collected or created, and how it was processed: Absorption, circular dichroism, linear dichroism spectra were collected for phenthiazine dyes with different DNA polynucleotides to study binding interactions and mode at high binding ratios. Instruments, hardware and software used: Absorption spectra were collected on a Cary100bio instrument. Circular dichroism were collected on a JASCO instrument. Linear dichroism spectra were collected on a JASCO instrument adapted with a Couette Cell that was constructed at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. Date(s) of data collection: 1998 - 2015 Geographic coverage of data: Newcastle University UK, and Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. Data validation (how was the data checked, proofed and cleaned): Data were zeroed where necessary. Replicates at different concentrations were collected and checked against each other for consistency. Overview of secondary data, if used: NONE ========================= Data-specific information ========================= Definitions of names, labels, acronyms or specialist terminology uses for variables, records and their values: All files are .XLSX Th = thionine MB = methylene blue AB = azure B polynucleotides referred to according to bases they contain Explanation of weighting and grossing variables: NONE Outline any missing data: AB data at low ionic strength was not collected. ======= Contact ======= Please contact rdm@ncl.ac.uk for further information
