READ ME This text describes the data presented in the paper: Mesoscopic FRET Antenna Materials by Self-Assembling Iridium(III) Complexes and BODIPY Dyes ======================== Introductory information ======================== Files included in the data deposit (include a short description of what data are contained): 1) a powerpoint file that contains the original UV-visible absorption and emission spectra reported in the paper Explain the relationship between multiple data sets, if required: slide 1 = original absorption and emission spectra of two dyes slide 2 = original emission spectra of three host-guest materials prepared from the two dyes slide 3 = original excited state decay lifetimes of two host-guest materials slide 4 = original emission spectra of three host-guest materials prepared from the two dyes slide 5 = original excited state decay lifetimes of two host-guest materials Key words used to describe the data: optical spectroscopy, host-guest compounds ========================== Methodological information ========================== A brief method description – what the data is, how and why it was collected or created, and how it was processed: the data consist of UV-visible absorption and emission spectra, recorded, respectively, on a Shimadzu UV-1800 spectrophotometer and an Edinburgh FLS980 photoluminescence spectrometer. Recorded spectra were exported as text files, imported in Origin Pro 8 and graphs were generated with it. Instruments, hardware and software used: Shimadzu UV-1800 spectrophotometer, Edinburgh FLS980 photoluminescence spectrometer. Software provided by the manufacturers themselves. Date(s) of data collection: from March 2018 to May 2018 Geographic coverage of data: Data validation (how was the data checked, proofed and cleaned): Overview of secondary data, if used: ========================= Data-specific information ========================= Definitions of names, labels, acronyms or specialist terminology uses for variables, records and their values: epsilon = molar extinction coefficient PL = photoluminescence lambda = wavelength JM = boron dipyrromethene dye, bearing a poly-ethylene glycol chain IrD = iridium(III) phenylpyridine complex 1% and 5% = molar ratio dye/surfactant used for the preparation of the host-guest materials Explanation of weighting and grossing variables: Outline any missing data: ======= Contact ======= Please contact rdm@ncl.ac.uk for further information
