A Child Data Group was convened in the Autumn 2020 as the first step to
producing an overview of childhood routine data capacity in the North East. The
group was set up in a short-term, task and finish format, to meet for five
times to discuss a range of objectives, and finally to make clear
recommendations for the next steps in terms of improving access, linkage and
processing capabilities for child routine data. The group’s work was designed
to form the basis for a further action plan for routine child data use at scale. This paper reports the key findings and recommendations resulting from the work.
