Audio Universe: Tour of the Solar System

<p dir="ltr">This show uses sound, as well as the traditional visuals, to represent the objects in space. It is an educational show that is designed to be accessible to people, irrespective of their level of vision. It was designed in collaboration with members of the blind and vision impaired community (e.g., the VIEWS group, Newcastle), specialist teachers of blind and vision impaired children, and blind and vision impaired children themselves.</p><p dir="ltr">The description of how it was produced appears in Astronomy and Geophysics (Harrison et al. 2022, <i>Volume 63, Issue 2, Pages 2.38-2.40</i>).</p><p dir="ltr">The sonification was produced using the code 'STRAUSS', which is described in:</p><ul><li>Trayford & Harrison, <i>28th Proceedings of the International Community of Auditory Displays (ICAD2023), p249-256, 2023</i>), </li><li>Trayford et al, <i>Journal of Open Source Software, 10(109), 7875 (2025)</i></li><li>github: https://github.com/james-trayford/strauss</li></ul><p></p>
