The data represent the responses of the bioelectrodes to a range of voltage that applied to a microbial electrolysis cell. The data of the response are converted into different results to facilitate the study. These results included hydrogen production, current density and the half-cell potentials, electrochemical impendence spectrogram, electrolyte properties, substrate consumption and product generation. Moreover, the results also included the enrichment data of the bioelectrodes in the microbial electrolysis cell. The determination of the energy contribution between bioanode and external power supply and bioelectrodes’ efficiency including the whole cell are also included.
