An Individual-based Model of Biofilms

A two-dimensional individual-based Model of Biofilms has been implemented in Fortran. The model can simulate EPS (Extracellular Polymeric Substance) producers, non-producers and EPS matrix. The EPS production can be regulated (positively or negatively) by quorum sensing. The model can be used to study competition between EPS producers and non-producers under quorum sensing regulation of EPS production.
