Edelmann, Philipp Rogers, Tamara M. Ratnasingam, R. P. Bowman, Dominic Pedersen, May Gade Convection and Internal Gravity Waves in a Main-Sequence Star <div>This shows a three-dimensional hydrodynamics simulation of a main-sequence star of three solar masses. The star has a convection zone at its core and a radiative envelope. Internal gravity waves are being excited at the interface between these two zones and propagate outward. The colour scale represents the temperature deviations from the horizontal mean.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div> internal gravity waves;hydrodynamics;main-sequence star;convection;Astrophysics;Stellar Astronomy 2019-07-31
