<div>This shows a three-dimensional hydrodynamics simulation of a main-sequence star of three solar masses. The star has a convection zone at its core and a radiative envelope. Internal gravity waves are being excited at the interface between these two zones and propagate outward. The colour scale represents the temperature deviations from the horizontal mean.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
